Welcome to the BookFun mobile application (hereinafter referred to as “the Application” or “BookFun”, Chinese name: 悦读 / 悅讀). Please review this Disclaimer carefully before using the Application. By accessing or using the Application, you acknowledge and agree to be bound by all terms herein.

1. Nature of Software & Tool Positioning

  • Utility Software: BookFun is an offline electronic reader and personal bookshelf organizer, designed to provide high-quality typography, 3D page flip simulations, and on-device text-to-speech.
  • No Pre-loaded Content: The Application does not provide, sell, host, distribute, or pre-load any books, digital publications, or commercial literature.

2. User Content & Copyright Responsibility

  1. User Autonomy: The Application enables users to import their own TXT and EPUB files via local file managers, Wi-Fi transfer, AirDrop, or system share sheets into their device sandbox.
  2. Copyright Ownership: All rights in and to user-imported files remain with their respective authors or copyright holders. Users must ensure that they have obtained the legal right, license, or that the works reside in the public domain.
  3. Exclusion of Liability: Aicrosoft disclaims any and all liability arising from user importation, storage, reading, or distribution of unauthorized, copyrighted, or unlawful materials. Users assume full legal and financial responsibility.

3. Typesetting Engine & File Compatibility

  • Non-Standard Encoding: BookFun features automated encoding detection and the BookPageSplitter CoreText pagination engine. However, third-party digital book files may contain damaged headers, broken character sets, or corrupted markup.
  • No Guarantee on Corrupted Files: We make no warranty that all damaged or non-standard files will render without error. Display issues resulting from corrupted source files do not constitute defects in the Application.

4. Cover Scraper Disclaimer

  • Public Search Tool: The book cover search and scraper tool is provided solely for personal shelf customization by searching public, compliant internet repositories.
  • Third-Party Imagery: Cover images remain the property of their respective copyright holders. Aicrosoft does not endorse, verify, or claim ownership of scraped cover images.

5. Local Storage & Data Loss Disclaimer

  • Local-First Architecture: BookFun operates without centralized servers or remote user databases.

  • Data Loss Exclusions: Aicrosoft cannot recover lost data and is not liable for data loss caused by:

    1. Manual deletion by the user;
    2. Device loss, physical damage, operating system crashes, or jailbreaking;
    3. Insufficient iCloud storage or disabled iCloud synchronization.

    Users are strongly encouraged to maintain independent backups of their source books and keep iCloud backups enabled.

6. “AS IS” Warranty Exclusion

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, BookFun is provided on an “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE” basis without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory. In no event shall Aicrosoft be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages.
