KinTime User Manual
Welcome to KinTime. This manual will guide you on how to make the most of this family time tracking tool focused on privacy, aesthetics, and performance.
🚀 Quick Start
1. Add Family Members
- Click the + button at the bottom right of the main interface.
- Basic Information: Enter name and relationship.
- Date of Birth: Precisely select the birth year, month, day, hour, and minute. The app features “future-proof” validation logic, preventing the selection of dates beyond the current moment.
- Avatar with Gesture Cropper & Path Normalization: Click the avatar area to select a photo from your gallery. The built-in ImageCropperView supports pinch-to-zoom, drag-to-pan, and one-tap reset. Robust avatar path normalization ensures current avatars load accurately even across sandbox and platform migrations. If no avatar is set, the app displays an elegant checkerboard placeholder.
- After saving, your real-time timing card will appear on the home screen with a cascading animation.
2. View and Sort
- Detailed Statistics: Click a card to view multi-dimensional statistics of “1 lifespan + 4 cumulative metrics.”
- Refined Micro Reorder Buttons & 44pt Touch Targets: Reorder controls are designed as 24pt/24dp micro-sized, subtle glass circles that preserve the focus on your photos, backed by 44pt/44dp expanded touch hit areas for effortless one-handed control.
- Gesture Decoupling & Freeze Prevention: Physically decoupled from double-tap editing gestures, eliminating accidental editor triggers and button lockup during rapid reordering.
- Fluid Spring Transitions: Natural physics-based Spring animations deliver a silky, tactile glide when cards exchange positions.
- Intelligent Baseline Alignment: Cards without custom names feature intelligent baseline spacing to maintain a balanced, tidy layout.
🛠️ Settings and Advanced Features
1. In-Place Quota Unlock (Premium)
KinTime natively contains no third-party ads, providing a pure initial experience.
- Free Quota & In-Place Unlock: The free version supports 1 member. When adding more members on the home screen, an in-place “Unlock Now” dialog appears to invoke StoreKit 2 (iOS) or Google Play Billing directly, without navigating to Settings.
- One-time Purchase: Complete a one-time purchase through official app store billing to permanently unlock unlimited members.
2. Data Backup and Restore (Important)
KinTime uses a standardized ZIP export mechanism to ensure data security and cross-platform interoperability.
- Export Backup: Go to “Settings” -> “Export Backup.” A file named
kintime-v{version}-{date}.zipwill be generated. - Restore Data: Click “Restore Data” and select the backup package. The app features a conflict merger mechanism: if IDs are the same but content differs, the local version is prioritized.
- Cross-platform Interoperability: Backup packages can be seamlessly migrated and imported between iOS and Android.
3. Email Support & More Apps
- Email Support: Tap “Email Support” in Settings to launch your mail client addressed to
[email protected]. It automatically formats the subject line with your version and build code (e.g.,KinTime Email Support [V1.3 (2610.3201)]). - More Apps: Tap “More Apps” to visit the developer profile on the App Store or Google Play and discover more tools.
4. Global Experience & Dynamic Routing
- Multi-language Switching: The app is deeply adapted to 17 global languages. Switch at any time in “Settings” -> “Language.”
- Online Help & Privacy Routing: Tapping “Online Help” or “Privacy Policy” dynamically directs you to the corresponding language webpage on our official website.
🔒 Privacy and Security
- 100% Offline: All your data (text and images) is stored locally on your phone. It is never uploaded to the cloud, completely eliminating the risk of privacy leaks.
- Empty State Design: If no members have been added, the app displays a soft blue-style empty state to guide you to start recording.
